Help Share KY’s Lesbian History

FMA is excited to announce that, thanks to funding from JustFundKY, we are creating an additional panel to add to our traveling exhibition Queer, Here, & Everywhere: The Roots of Kentucky’s LGBTQ History that began as part of Lexington’s 250 celebration.

This additional panel will expand coverage of lesbian history in Kentucky. We wanted to ask you for input on what to highlight next. Existing panels cover The Country, Womin Energy, The Lexington Six, Amber Moon, Jones v. Hallahan, and the Lexington Women's Collective.

Want to provide feedback on this new panel?

A few things to note on possible topics:

  • We generally attempt to avoid highlighting living people unless part of a larger group/organization that is being highlighted. This can't always be avoided, but we try our best.

  • The more visually interesting a subject is, the better. Topics with photos that could be included help create a more captivating exhibit panel.

  • This project works to cover LGBTQ history state-wide, so we are looking for lesbian history across the entirety of Kentucky.

  • We already cover The Country, Womin Energy, The Lexington Six, Amber Moon, Jones v. Hallahan, and the Lexington Women's Collective in existing panels. So we would like new topics to add in addition to those.
