THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
We are so grateful for our many, many supporters who donated during LGBTQ History Month. Your donations ensure that LGBTQ stories from Kentucky will be protected, honored, and shared for generations to come. In a time of political backlash, your support is more than generosity, it’s an act of resistance and hope. It ensures that we are able to continue recording and preserving the stories that have too often been overlooked or erased.
We are so grateful that you are joining us as we share Kentucky’s LGBTQ history!
But the end of LGBTQ History Month does not mean the end of our efforts. All year long, we at FMA remain steadfast in our mission: to document, share, and uplift the voices of LGBTQ Kentuckians–past and present.
There are so many ways for you to take part in this important work!

RESEARCH
Our collections are a rich resource for activists, artists, scholars, museums, and community members. Using the collections of the Faulkner Morgan Archive is a free service, but as a non-profit organization, consider a donation to help us keep the archive free of use. As one researcher put it…
“Working with the FMA has reinforced my belief that preserving LGBTQ+ histories requires both documenting the physical spaces where our community gathered and collecting the personal stories that give these spaces true meaning. Their commitment to preserving Kentucky’s queer history through both artifacts and oral histories makes the FMA an essential resource for researchers like myself who are working to ensure these stories are never forgotten.”

BUY OUR NEWEST ZINE!
Calling all rodeo gays! Check out our newest zine, celebrating rural LGBTQ history through The Tri-State Gay Rodeo Association. 💖🐎🤠
This zine (or booklet) is a look at The Tri-State Gay Rodeo Association. TSGRA was founded in 1989 as part of the International Gay Rodeo Association (which is still around today!). Consisting of members from Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, they would ride their horses; they would go to rodeos; they would host cookouts; they would hold these dances. They were really taking ruralness on as a queer behavior in and of itself. While TSGRA dissolved in 1995, these images perfectly illustrate the long-lasting legacy of queerness in rural Kentucky.
This zine was designed, locally printed on a risograph printer, and hand-bound by our Assistant Executive Director, Josh Porter. This is a limited edition run of 30, with each zine labelled # out of 30!
