"Queer, Here & Everywhere" Closing Reception and Talk

  • Lexington Public Library, Eastside Branch. 3000 Blake James Drive Lexington, KY, 40509 United States (map)

Please join us from 5:30-7 for a reception celebrating the Faulkner Morgan Archive's traveling exhibit "Queer, Here, & Everywhere: The Roots of Kentucky's LGBTQ History" at the Lexington Public Library, Eastside Branch. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The reception will also include a short history presentation by Josh Porter from the Faulkner Morgan Archive.

Funded with a 250Lex Cultural Grant, the exhibit highlights key moments and figures in Lexington's LGBTQ history, from Sweet Evening Breeze's drag performances in the 1920s to the passage of the Fairness Ordinance in 1999 and celebrates the resilience and contributions of the queer community. By shedding light on these often overlooked narratives, we hope to foster a greater sense of belonging for LGBTQ individuals in Lexington while also promoting understanding and appreciation among the broader population.
